It has been a new norm for the WWE Superstars to wish the Indian fans whenever it comes to celebrating a festival around the calendar. Based on the United States, WWE has a huge difference with the Indian culture. But they keep track of the variety of events hosted in our country throughout the year and find time to drop heartfelt messages to the fans.
On the occasion of Holi 2019, multiple WWE superstars took the social media to let us know that they are thinking of the fans in India. As seen in the below video, they wish us a safe and colorful Holi. Names included in the video were John Cena, The Hardy Boyz, Rey Mysterio and the New Day. The three WWE superstars originated from India i.e. Jinder Mahal and Singh Brothers were also there in the video message.
WWE has been hell-bent trying to capture the Indian market for the past few years. This is the reason they once decided to put the WWE Championship over Jinder Mahal in 2017. Followed by that, we also had a house show in India later that year. Apart from that, numerous WWE superstars keep on visiting India at regular intervals. The company chooses the most popular WWE superstars in this purpose.
So it’s assumable why stars like John Cena, Hardyz or Mysterio featured in this video message for Holi 2019. The New Day has also been quite a sensation around the Indian fanbase. Hence, WWE included them as well for the greeting session. Speaking of this trio, they were also present during the first-ever WWE tryouts held earlier this month. Here’s what Sheetesh Srivastava, WWE VP, and General Manager, South Asia said about the event,
“With 90 million Indians tuning into their platforms every week, WWE India has the largest fanbase in the world and hence the Tryouts were a historic event in our country. India has some fantastic talent potential and the Tryouts have truly been a catalyst to consolidating India’s potential and visibility on a global scale.”
