The complexion of the first-ever women’s Wrestlemania main event changed on this past Tuesday Night. WWE Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will now put her title on the line in a triple threat match against current SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair and the Royal Rumble 2019 winner Becky Lynch.
It’s a rare occasion where an already existing champion will be challenging for another title trying to become an undisputed champion. As much as the fans dislike to see Charlotte Flair with the SmackDown Women’s Championship, there’s a big reason behind making her the new title-holder as WWE eyes a massive Wrestlemania 35 finish featuring the women superstars.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE officials are planning to bring back WWE’s Four-Horsewomen stable (Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley) at Wrestlemania 35. They want each one of these names to hold one title and showcase it to end this year’s edition of the ‘show of shows’.
This indicates that Sasha Banks and Bayley will retain their women’s tag team championships at Wrestlemania 35 against three other teams. Furthermore, Becky Lynch will capture the WWE Raw women’s championship from Ronda Rousey. Thereafter, WWE’s four-horsewomen will celebrate with their championships to bring a solid end to the women’s main event.
As reported earlier, there’s a chance that WWE might just decide to unify the the Raw and Smackdown women’s championships on this upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw. In that case, the Wrestlemania 35 main event will be contested for dual championships. Becky Lynch will end up winning those two titles at the same time making history. In this case, it is likely that the most popular WWE superstar will celebrate with the audience to close the show.
