WWE has now booked Baron Corbin against Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship match at Super ShowDown. This match came up out of nowhere after Brock Lesnar denied to cash in Money in the Bank briefcase against the champion. So we received a number one contender’s match for the Universal Championship. It was a fatal-4-way match featuring The Miz taking on Bobby Lashley, Braun Strowman, and Baron Corbin. AJ Styles could not participate since he is dealing with an injury.
Strowman and Lashley took themselves out of the match by brawling against each other and walking to the backstage area. This left The Miz and Baron Corbin in the match. Miz tried to take control hitting a pair of running double knees. But Corbin caught him out of nowhere with an End of Days to pick up the win.
This win confirmed that Baron Corbin is facing Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at Super ShowDown,
“At WWE Super ShowDown, Seth Rollins will take on Baron Corbin in a Universal Championship showdown as part of an event that will be equivalent to or exceed WrestleMania. With it still uncertain as to when Brock Lesnar will cash in his coveted Money in the Bank contract on Rollins, Corbin outlasted Braun Strowman, The Miz and Bobby Lashley in a Fatal 4-Way Match to earn the right to challenge The Architect in Jeddah.”
Earlier the plan for WWE Raw was that Brock Lesnar will reveal his next target on WWE Raw. He will declare his Money in the Bank cash-in opponent. Popular opinions cum reports indicated that he’d take the predictable route to announce a matchup against Seth Rollins. However, he wanted to wait a bit long since one-year timespan is available for him to cash in the contract. Hence, the beast will be waiting for the rightmost time to exercise the title match contract.
