The final TV taping before Extreme Rules was pretty decent in the form of Smackdown Live where we have seen dual main event matches. WWE.com hyped up the episode via these where Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler continued their feud. However, in reality, the match turned out to be Roman Reigns vs. Dolph Ziggler after what went down in the opening segment of the show.
Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler involved in a backstage fight to open Smackdown Live in a chaotic manner. Shane McMahon canceled the scheduled match between these two in order to keep the workplace in order. But Ziggler seemed ready to pick a fight with anybody which forced Shane to announce another mouth-watering match. Roman Reigns returned to Smackdown after an almost six weeks of gap.
Shane McMahon, Drew McIntyre, and Elias were sitting at ringside during this match to distract Roman Reigns, continuously. The Big Dog delivered a top rope senton to put them down prior to Kevin Owens hit the ring. He attacked Shane with a Stunner to the pleasure of the audience. Ziggler tried to hit Roman Reigns with a Zig-zag move but digested a huge spear from him to suffer the pinfall loss.
If this solid main event match was not enough the WWE also gave us a dream match between Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura that started a new rivalry over the Intercontinental Championship. The challenger was able to defeat the ‘extraordinary man who can do extraordinary things’ via a Kinshasa which must hand over a title shot in the future. If we do not see this match at Extreme Rules then it will surely happen at Summerslam.
