WWE has now confirmed several matchups for the Summerslam show from the blue brand. The newly done announcements seemed much needed as the upcoming PPV card looked much empty especially considering that it’s the second biggest event of the year.
Nevertheless, Smackdown Live opened straight addressing the concern as Shane McMahon readily accepted the Summerslam challenge of Kevin Owens. The match will happen with a stipulation that if Owens loses then he will leave the WWE. Also, the WWE Championship will be on the line now that Randy Orton has accepted the challenge laid down by Kofi Kingston. They will lock horns for the prime title of the sports entertainment on August 11th.
Plus, Finn Balor also demanded a match against Bray Wyatt who attacked him a week ago on WWE Raw. So WWE.com confirmed that they will renew the feud at Summerslam which is less than three weeks away,
“In three weeks, we’ll see what reward Finn Bálor’s bravery holds, if any, when he goes one-on-one with the abomination in The Fiend’s first match. Tune in to The Biggest Event of the Summer to see who emerges victorious when SummerSlam streams live, Sunday, Aug. 11, at 7 ET/4 PT on the award-winning WWE Network.”
Summerslam match card definitely needed a boost with just less than three weeks remaining from the actual event. The focus was on WWE Raw reunion show for the past few days that happened on this Monday Night in Tampa. Although it was a success, it diverted the attention of the WWE Universe from the biggest event of the summer.
Thankfully, Smackdown brought back the attention to where it should have stayed. They confirmed an open challenge from Kofi Kingston to set up his next WWE Championship match. Also, Kevin Owens issued a Summerslam challenge to Shane McMahon through a match and also intended to quit WWE if he loses the match. Additionally, we also received the return of Bray Wyatt to the in-ring competition which is going to be a huge attraction for the WWE Universe.
