WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler welcomed Trish Stratus back on board in the WWE as she will now be gearing up for a must-see match at Summerslam. The audience gave the returnee a warm welcome and started the ‘one more match’ chants demanding a pleasant surprise gift from her. As she was going to address the same, Charlotte Flair came out to interrupt her.
The Queen mentioned how it’s unfair to host a King’s Court without her. Trish Stratus might be a legend but she is a shadow of the past. She was merely a model while becoming a great champion whereas names like Flair have already become the trailblazers. With saying so, she challenged Trish into a match which was accepted, right away. The two had a face-off that marked an end to the classic segment.
Earlier this week’s episode of Smackdown, WWE tried to boost it up by announcing the return of Trish Stratus,
“When the blue brand descends on The Home of the Blues this Tuesday night, Memphis’ own WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler will return to the blue brand to host a special edition of “The King’s Court.” And his royal guest will be none other than fellow Hall of Famer Trish Stratus! What will The King have in store for the seven-time Women’s Champion? We’ll find out tonight at 8/7 C on SmackDown LIVE.”
As per the speculations from last week, we already knew that the legendary women’s wrestler is coming back on the occasion of 32nd Summerslam edition. The pay-per-view is taking place at the hometown of Trish Stratus i.e. Toronto, Ontario, Canada. So WWE thought it would be the rightmost decision to insert her to the match card. That’s exactly what transpired on last night’s Smackdown when she showed up and accepted the challenge thrown by Charlotte Flair. We wish it would be a contest to be remembered for ages.
