Numerous prior assaults could not put down Seth Rollins to win back the Universal Championship at Summerslam. The Toronto crowd received a grand end to the 32nd edition of the show as he turned out to be the beast-slayer for the second time in 2019. The main event match started with the challenger gaining the upper-hand as he hit The Stomp on Brock Lesnar for the two-count making the audience go nuts.
The momentums were shifted as Lesnar targeted the injured mid-ribs of Seth Rollins, thereafter. Several German Suplexes and F-5s followed to put down the challenger for good. Somehow, Rollins managed to lay down the champion on the announce table and deliver a Frog-Splash through it. He took Lesnar back to the ring and connected with another splash. Another Stomp followed on Lesnar for the three-count as Seth Rollins became the new champion. He ended Summerslam by celebrating with the title.
You may check the below lines delivered by WWE.com which points out that Seth Rollins earned his opportunity to go to Summerslam main event match,
“The Architect faced an uphill battle to get another crack at The Beast since there is no longer an automatic rematch clause when a titleholder loses the gold. Accordingly, the best of the best in WWE descended on Raw the night after Extreme Rules to compete in a “Cross Branded All-Star Top 10 Battle Royal” for the opportunity to stand toe-to-toe with The Beast at The Biggest Event of the Summer. The combatants included Rollins, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Big E, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, and Cesaro.”
But heading into the match, Seth Rollins was not 100 percent, for sure after receiving massive beatdowns from Brock Lesnar. The beast incarnate was in a remorseless mood to hurt him bad that raised question whether the challenger could even compete at Summerslam. But he showed tremendous resiliency to arrive at the top of the food chain again by picking up the Universal Championship.
