Summerslam 2019 had a happy ending where the prime title went back to where it should belong. In the main event of the biggest event of the summer, “The Beast Slayer” Seth Rollins defeated “The Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar clean to win the Universal Championship. This came as a pure shocker since Lesnar holds the most dominant record of this decade in the male roster.
The initial view was that the loss could harm the strong status of Brock Lesnar since he will be staying with the WWE. But the creative team of the company already has some backup plans for him which assures that he will have a fresh start in a different brand which would have nothing to do with the Universal title.
As reported by wwfoldschool.com, Seth Rollins beat Brock Lesnar fair & square in this match because his time on Raw is over now. He is done with the flagship show of the company who will now be moving over to SmackDown Live when the show moves to FOX in October. The host network will use him as a marquee attraction so to give the brand more of a mainstream feel. Here’s more of future planning from the source,
“Lesnar, along with multiple other legends, is scheduled to appear on the debut episode of SmackDown on FOX on October 4th.
There have been talks of Lesnar going after WWE Champion Kofi Kingston to generate major interest for the show on FOX. For this to happen, Kofi would have to defeat Randy Orton is his current feud.”
Smackdown Live debuts on FOX on October 4th celebrating its 20th anniversary from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. WWE has already announced WWE Hall of Famers Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, Goldberg, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Mark Henry, Ric Flair, and Sting to appear in this extravaganza. Brock Lesnar is likely to make a surprise appearance on that night since his name is not enlisted among the current roster superstars.
