The question remains as to why WWE suddenly added Stone Cold Steve Austin to the Madison Square Garden show. Assuming by the ongoing reports, WWE found it hard to sell out the shows in the New York City even after making a decade-long return. So this was high-time that they announce something special to a huge boost to the ticket selling. This is the reason why they announced The Undertaker for September 10th Smackdown whereas The Texas Rattlesnake will be attending the Raw before that night.

Prior to this appearance, Stone Cold Steve Austin made his return on the Raw reunion show hosted in July. As for WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden, the last time they visited the arena for TV taping was on November 16, 2009.
