WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden is shaping up to be a big affair as the day inches closer. On September 9th & 10th, we will receive two special editions of Monday Night Raw and Smackdown Live, respectively from the most famous arena of the world. The hypes around the show have become suddenly bigger with WWE’s announcement that confirmed Stone Cold Steve Austin for Raw.
The 6-time WWE World Champion will have his second live appearance of 2019 on WWE TV, next month making it a must-see for the audience. Here’s the official announcement from WWE.com,
“Stone Cold Steve Austin will be on hand to raise some hell when Monday Night Raw comes to New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Sept. 9.
Combination and individual event tickets for the back-to-back Raw and SmackDown LIVE shows are available now at ticketmaster.com.
Don’t miss your opportunity to see The Texas Rattlesnake when the red brand returns to “The World’s Most Famous Arena”.”
The question remains as to why WWE suddenly added Stone Cold Steve Austin to the Madison Square Garden show. Assuming by the ongoing reports, WWE found it hard to sell out the shows in the New York City even after making a decade-long return. So this was high-time that they announce something special to a huge boost to the ticket selling. This is the reason why they announced The Undertaker for September 10th Smackdown whereas The Texas Rattlesnake will be attending the Raw before that night.
Prior to this appearance, Stone Cold Steve Austin made his return on the Raw reunion show hosted in July. As for WWE’s return to Madison Square Garden, the last time they visited the arena for TV taping was on November 16, 2009. The main event of that night featured John Cena & The Undertaker against Triple H & Shawn Michaels of D-Generation X against Chris Jericho & Big Show of Jeri-Show in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.
