The rumors of WWE Hall of Famer Edge coming back to action have recently fuelled up with the current reports available on the internet. He returned at Summerslam 2019 in front of his hometown crowd of Toronto, Canada to deliver a massive spear on Elias. It was the first time since his retirement that he got involved in a physical altercation and thereby teasing a potential comeback.
Now reports are available courtesy of Brad Shepard from the Oh, You Didn’t Know Patreon who stated Edge is indeed gearing up for an in-ring return. It’s not clear when he could be back in action. But it is reportedly “believed” that WrestleMania is the most likely event for the 11-time world champion’s return to action,
“According to a source in WWE, Edge is training for an in-ring return (not full time). The time frame isn’t certain but is believed to possibly be by WrestleMania.
I’m told WWE medical staff will keep a close eye on him.” (courtesy ringsidenews.com)
Earlier to this, Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the Rated R Superstar has been medically cleared by the doctors. Afterward, he signed a new WWE contract after negotiating with both WWE and AEW. The ‘the idea of having Edge wrestle has been discussed very privately within WWE,’ as well. Consecutively, he was spotted in Pittsburgh for some ‘WWE Business’ purpose which was a further indication of the backstage happenings regarding his in-ring comeback.
WWE Universe will always consider the retirement of Edge as one of the most heart-broken moments in the history of this company. The legendary name has found himself with a broken neck following his match at WrestleMania 27 against Alberto Del Rio. Doctors recommended an immediate retirement for him as he was forced to quit the business as the world heavyweight champion. Hopefully, he will be able to compete in one last match and make his global fanbase happy.
